Director of Major Gifts
Bryn Mawr College is seeking a dynamic fundraiser to be our new Director of Major Gifts. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of major gift fundraising – employing best practices and with a track record of closing six and seven figure gifts – and experience managing a team. The new Director will inherit a team of talented fundraisers with a diverse set of skills and levels of experience. We want an individual who thrives in teaching and mentoring, believes in metrics and systems, and leads by example. They will also join an experienced leadership team comprised of the directors of the individual departments (planned giving, stewardship, prospect management, campaigns, development services and The Bryn Mawr Fund).
Desired Experience and Characteristics:
- At least 7 – 10 years of major gift experience, with a proven track record of closing six and seven figure gifts
- Experience managing a team of fundraising – specifically experience in creating goals and measuring progress, as well as experience in training and mentoring staff
- Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
- Strong leadership skills – proven ability to execute on a vision
- Understanding of the mission of a women’s liberal arts college
