Responsibilities
Become part of a diverse team of technologists providing support to a highly engaged academic community. Reporting directly to the Senior Network Engineer, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of the college’s voice and data infrastructure.

The successful candidate will perform Move/Add/Change work for voice and data connections; administer the College’s Avaya Definity PBX; monitor and administer a combined Cisco/HP layer 2/3 switched data network; manage small wiring projects; and work with college departments and outside vendors to monitor and maintain the campus telecommunications infrastructure.

Requirements
An Associate’s degree and 3-5 years experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years experience in supporting a converging telephone and data network and demonstrated skills in the following areas:

• Comprehensive understanding of telephone and data technologies with an emphasis on PBX, switch, and router operation

• Comprehensive understanding of ISDN

• Comprehensive understanding of tcp/ip network protocols

• Comprehensive understanding of Ethernet

• Experience administering DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, and similar software

• Extensive experience with Linux, Microsoft Windows, or Apple OS X

• Commitment to continuous improvement of professional skills

• CCNA or Avaya certifications or equivalent
