Bryn Mawr College’s Office of Admission seeks an experienced, highly effective leader and strategic thinker to fill this critical position. Reporting to the Dean of Admissions, the Senior Assistant/Associate Director of Admission for Communications will play a critical leadership role within the Office of Admissions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the liaison to the College’s Communications Office
Collaboratively develop short and long-term strategic communications plans for Admissions with Admissions Officers and the Director of Constituent Communications; work closely with staff, faculty, and other College constituents to develop focused communications plans for targeted populations
Assist with development and review of admission recruitment publications and correspondence
Regularly write and edit content for web, email, social media, and print communications
Develop and coordinate smart, creative, and efficient communications strategies to stabilize existing markets and grow in new markets
Must be familiar with contemporary enrollment communications strategies, demographic trends, and current research in the field
Collaborate with Associate Director for Outreach and the Associate Director for Campus Visits and Events to ensure an approach that integrates communications with broad recruitment and campus visit strategies
Effectively and creatively communicate key messages to a range of constituents, including prospective students (undergraduate and graduate, and also transfer, international, and multicultural students), parents, and guidance counselors.
Assist in admission website restructuring and content management with the Office of Communications
Assist with testing, implementing and training of web forms or third-party software
Perform continuous benchmarking of other higher education institutions for best practices and content
Review first-year applications
Assist with on and off campus programs
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is strongly preferred.
A minimum of 3-5 years progressive admissions experience with significant admissions/enrollment communications experience
Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, and a clear understanding of the importance of effective internal and external communications
Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and priorities, establish goals, and produce desired results in a timely way
Exceptional attention to detail
Experience with production of a variety of media both print and internet; skills to conceptualize, design, prepare and produce creative and original copy for recruitment and yield purposes
Demonstrated commitment to recruiting and enrolling diverse students, including students of color, transfer students, and international students
Strong service orientation in working with both internal and external constituents; highly developed collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with admissions, communications, and administrative support staff members to develop and implement communications plans.
Outstanding initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills
Proven record of success working with and knowledge of student information systems (PeopleSoft and Adobe Creative Suite a plus), content management systems, bulk email software, and Microsoft Office
Brings a sense of humor, fun, imagination, innovation, and enjoyment of the work to the office, and is a team player willing to pitch in wherever and whenever necessary
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary
