Job Title: Technical/Digital Assistant, Albert M. Greenfield Digital Center for the History of Women’s Education
Misc. Temp. (through May 2013), parrt time 20 hours per week. $12 per hour
Supervisor: Digital Collections Specialist
Job Summary: Organize, oversee, and complete a variety of technical projects (scanning, cataloging, metadata management) for the Albert M. Greenfield Digital Center for the History of Women’s Education at greenfield.brynmawr.edu.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Education and Experience: Completed or currently enrolled in MLIS program with a concentration in digital libraries, or BA with demonstrated experience digitizing historical, manuscript or artifact collections in a library or museum setting. Familiarity CONTENTdm preferred; knowledge of Omeka, WordPress and Extensis Portfolio also helpful. General understanding of digital file processing and management, preferably using Adobe Bridge as well as some type of Digital Asset Management system. Experience creating metadata according to Dublin Core standards and using Excel spreadsheets and text editors to create and manipulate metadata.
Must be able to left and handle archives boxes weighing 35 pounds and have the ability to be mobile between work stations and Library buildings.
