Samuel Coulston's House on Germantown Avenue below Haines Street
Thomas H. Shoemaker Collection, folio 9
Historical Society of Pennsylvania

Included are:

"Sylvester Coulston's House"

"This house was for many years occupied by Sylvester Coulston, who is a blacksmith and wheel-wright. I do not know of any historic interst attached to it. Some ten or fifteen years ago the house was torn down and the present brick store and dwelling erected. Across the drive way is seen the end of the shop where Coulston carried on his business, which he still does in the rear of the structure. The property is on Main St. below Haines.

"In the lower corner of the picture is seen the First- Presbyterian Church, now the Young Men's Christian Association."
