Mutual Assurance Policy Number 2696 for Joseph Carter’s northernmost house, W.S. 12 th St. between Chestnut and Market Sts., describes the property as a new three-story brick house with pine board floors, neat mantles, and an arched entrance with pilasters. It also mentions that it is bounded on the south by another three-story brick house. The policy was cancelled in 1827.
