DATE: ca. 1850
ORIGINAL OWNER: “The Isaac Starr House”
This Italianate style house is representative of the mid-19th century farm houses and early summer houses that
could be found throughout Chestnut Hill. The wrap-around porch with spindle work was a later Victorian addition.
The openness of the land behind the house suggests the sweeping views of Wissahickon industrial corridor and
Montgomery County that the first owners must have enjoyed.
