The was a very new house when Mr. Naylor captured it on film. It was designed late in Wilson Eyre’s career
when he had forsaken his more picturesque approach to architecture, and adopted the popular Colonial Revival
style that had swept the United States. However, the design still possesses some of the irregular massing that
is characteristic of his early work although now in an a neo-18th century cloak.
