The Leadership in Action Program is designed to give students the opportunity to observe community leadership in action by matching Bryn Mawr students with professionals in leadership roles for a three to five day externship. By shadowing these leaders in the field, students have the opportunity to explore real-world issues and elements of leadership through a variety of professions and perspectives. Students participating in Leadership in Action will have completed LEAP, an intensive leadership development workshop series where they explored different elements of leadership and developed practical leadership skills. Leadership in Action takes students to the next level of understanding and exploration, culminating in a focused reflection of their observations and experiences.
The program is typically offered during Bryn Mawr's Spring Break. All participants are required to participate in a pre- and post-externship reflection session.
*Leadership in Action is open only to students who are currently enrolled in or have completed the LEAP Intensive Leadership Development Program.*
Applications for Leadership in Action externships are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year and students are matched with externship hosts on a first come, first served basis.
