A limited number of carrels in Canaday are available to Bryn Mawr seniors, graduate students, and faculty. For more information about faculty carrels email Circulation.
Carrels in Canaday for the academic year are available beginning in June for seniors and graduate students and may be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. No application or reservation is necessary; Circulation keeps no list of carrel assignments. To claim your carrel:
Carrels assigned to undergraduates become available again in the summer for the coming academic year. Carrels assigned to graduate students and faculty remain as long as they are needed.
Do not leave valuables or materials that have not been checked out in your carrel. Library items left in carrels that have not been checked out will be re-shelved by library staff. Items left in carrels by those who have graduated will be removed during the summer.
Canaday carrels B7 and B8 are designated for prelim exams only. Graduate students may book a carrel for up to 5 hours for test-taking. These carrels remain unlocked when not in use. Advanced booking is not required.

To check out a carrel, simply ask to check out the key for whichever carrel you’ve booked at Canaday Circulation.
Carpenter has a limited number of carrels for seniors and graduate students in majoring in classics, cities, archaeology, and history of art. For more information see this page.
Canaday has a small group viewing room, five individual video viewing carrels, and portable DVD players available for check-out. More information on room and carrel capabilities are available here.
Media Editing stations, including computers with capabilities to use iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Audacity, Camtasia, Handbrake, Windows Movie Maker, Quicktime Pro and Snapz are available in Canaday Media Lab on floor A, Data Lab on floor A, LLC on floor 3, Room 313, and the Tech Bar area on floor 1. Various media equipment is available for patron use from the Circulation Desk, including Camcorders, Digital Cameras, Digital Voice Recorders, Webcams, Graphics Tablet, Kindle, Tripods, and Headphones. The Help Desk, located across from the Circulation Desk in Canaday, has a limited number of laptops available for student use. Canaday Library is an academic/administrative space and enforces the Bryn Mawr College posting policy. Please post only on the general-use bulletin board on the 1st floor facing the elevator, and in designated spaces within the Lusty Cup. The front doors, windows, and vestibule area are are reserved for library information only.
Canaday: Food is allowed only in the Lusty Cup on Floor A. Beverages are allowed elsewhere only in covered containers or bottles.
