Images

ARTstor

A digital library of several hundred thousand art images from a variety of museum, library and archival collections. Subjects include architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design.

Please note: ARTstor does not work perfectly on all platforms with the proxy server and may not save images correctly (Safari on a Mac and Firefox on a PC seem to work well; IE and Firefox on a Mac less well). If you're off campus and want to use ARTstor, you do not need to use the proxy server as long as you have created an account with ARTstor, which you can use as an off-campus login.

World Images

Nearly 50,000 art and other images intended for teaching and research purposes.  Extensive art and archaeology collection.

Art Images for College Teaching

Freely available images, mostly of ancient, medieval, and Renaissance European art and architecture.

Grove Art Online

Articles in Grove Art link to external sources (museum and gallery websites). Size and quality of image and access depends on the external site.  Grove Art also links to the Bridgeman Art Library and Art Resource, which are commercial image providers.
