The library is open to the public on weekdays until 6 p.m. After 6 p.m. and on weekends, the library is open to any affiliates of Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges (students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends of the library, and their guests). Students, faculty, and staff of the University of Pennsylvania are also admitted at any time. All others should make prior arrangements.

Reserve materials for courses in History of Art, Archaeology, Classics, and Cities are shelved behind the circulation desk. Three items may be checked out at a time for three hours. Carpenter reserve materials may be taken out of the Library but must be returned to Carpenter.
Check Tripod for course reserves, or click on the "Reserves" link at the top of the Tripod home page. Search courses by number (e.g., ARCH 101), by name, or by professor's last name. Online reserves (e-reserves) are accessible via Moodle.
Carpenter Services and Spaces
Carrels are assigned only to graduate students and senior majors in Classics, History of Art, Archaeology, and Cities. The carrel agreement sets out each carrel holder's responsibilities. Please see Laura Surtees for questions about carrel assignments.
Classrooms are scheduled through Conferences and Events. Reserve the Media Lab by contacting Del Ramers (7917, firstname.lastname@example.org)
Computers: See the Digital Media and Collaboration Lab. There is also a computer lab in the basement of Carpenter (with PCs) and one dvd and vhs tape viewing station. Headphones for the dvd/vhs tape viewer can be checked out at the circulation desk (but see Canaday for better video viewing resources).
Food and drink. Drinks in spill-proof containers with lids are allowed (styrofoam and paper cups are not allowed). Food is not allowed.

Photocopiers: The printers by the circulation desk and in the basement computer lab will scan to a Bryn Mawr home directory or to a USB drive. Two on Level A and one on Level B. There is a change machine (for $1 and $5 bills) and a copycard dispenser that takes denominations up to $20 (but does not give change).

B Carpenter Cage books are in the Rare Book Room in Carpenter, and are available when the librarians are present; usually 9 a.m. till 5 p.m. Please call or write ahead if you need to see a Cage book at a particular time.
