Library Access Services Intern

(Full-time paid internship beginning July 08)

Bryn Mawr College is offering a twelve-month, full-time, paid Internship in Canaday Library Access Services. This position involves a variety of duties: management of student employees; primary and secondary support for the circulation desk; electronic and print reserves. As an intern, you will also have opportunities for exploratory work in other areas of the Library, including Reference, Special Collections, Inter-Library Loan, Web Integration, Cataloging and Computing.

The ideal candidate will be curious, committed to high-quality customer service, and interested in obtaining some practical knowledge of academic libraries in a stimulating, diverse, fast-paced environment.  Comfort with basic information technology is essential.  Demonstrable work experience and/or masters-level coursework in library and information science is desired.

Tri-College Libraries Web Programmer
(Tri-College Position, located at Swarthmore College)

The Tri-College Library Consortium seeks a creative, collaborative, and forward-thinking individual to develop online services and support digital initiatives. Reporting to the Tri-Colleges Systems and Applications Coordinator, the incumbent will be integral in the creation and implementation of technologies to improve library services. Such technologies include federated searching, streaming media, digital repositories, the library catalog, and other projects. The Libraries of Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges are located within 10 miles of each other in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. The position is based at Swarthmore College, but the incumbent will spend time on each campus for meetings, project work, and collaboration with library staff.
