Table of contents followed by a brief publishing history of the texts which describes article 6 as "ineditus" and probably "spurius." Later additions, in lead, in a twentieth-century hand.

2. f. ir-36v Incipit liber de comprobacione sexte etatis

[Oration:] Accedam ad te domine in humilitate spiritus mei loquar tibi quia multam spem et fiduciam dedisti mihi. . . ad te perueniens gloriosus factus in ea bonam tibi de eius defensione rationem rediturus accedat.

[Text:] Inclito et glorioso Erugio Regi Iulianus seruulus uester. prephacio. Peritorum mos iuste est medicorum ubilibet uulnus serpit in corpore ferro uulneris materiam preuenire. . .

Paper (watermarks: Similar to Briquet Indéterminés 16073), ff. iv (modern paper, a contemporary flyleaf has been glued to f. ii)+ i (parchment) + 117 + i (contemporary paper) + iv (modern paper), 195 x 136 (138 x 80) mm., foliation possibly in the hand which wrote article 1, c. 35-40 unruled lines, with single horizontal and vertical bounding lines in ink. Prickings visible in outer margin.

I2, II14 (-2, 3, 4), III-VIII12, IX10, X12 (+ back flyleaf). Vertical catchwords along inner bounding line.

Written by a single scribe in a small, spidery, and difficult to read gothic cursive above the top line.

Numerous crude, 2- to 3-line red initials throughout. Red underlining and paragraph markers; sentence strokes in yellow. Occasional marginal drawings in brown ink with yellow.

Outer margin repair in final three leaves is made from now badly deteriorating paper.

Binding: United States; 20th-century brown cloth with Howard L. Goodhart's gold crane stamped on cover. On spine gold-tooled on green leather label: JULIAN/ ISODORUS/ & OTHERS/ MSS. XV CENT .

Written in the fifteenth century. Provenance unknown. Unidentified [Sotheby's ?] catalogue entry glued to flyleaf. In the collection of Howard L. Goodhart (2 bookplates; in lead: "Census 1675 pencil no. 112"), and left by him to Phyllis Goodhart Gordan (bookplate) and John Dozier Gordan, Jr.
