Eighty Years and More (1815-1897); Reminiscences of Elizabeth Cady StantonElizabeth Cady Stanton. New York: European Publishing Co., 1898. Signed dedication to "the Students of Bryn Mawr College" on detached end-leaf.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton's autobiography is one of the great documents of the women's rights movement, and this copy is especially meaningful for Bryn Mawr because she donated it to the College and included a note on an end-leaf dedicating it to "the Students of Bryn Mawr College." The cloth binding of this first edition is nearly detached from the text block, the spine is torn, and a number of pages have come loose. In addition, the end-leaf with the inscription was removed from the book some years ago and is stored separately. The restoration work will repair the binding and re-attach the separated pages, including the end-leaf with the inscription.
