What do you treasure at Bryn Mawr?

We’re scouring the campus for Bryn Mawr’s treasures and we need your help.

Some are obvious — Athena, the Sargent portrait of M. Carey Thomas, Goodhart Hall... but there are many others.

If you are an alumna/us, perhaps there’s one secret treasure that you discovered when you were here as a student. The Mary Cassatt prints, perhaps, the Goodhart collection of 15th-century books, the beech tree behind Rhoads.

The Friends of the Bryn Mawr College Library are looking all over campus to identify the college’s treasures — some of the things that make Bryn Mawr a special place.

Please share your ideas with us, by emailing us at treasures [at] brynmawr [dot] edu.

Be creative! You don’t have to identify a painting or a favorite book — tell us about your favorite professor, architectural feature, college collection, or site.

We want to show the world our Treasures!

In celebration of the college’s 125th anniversary in 2010, we will be identifying, exhibiting, preserving, and documenting our history.

Once we know what you treasure, we will share your choices with the Bryn Mawr College community and the public at large.

An exhibition highlighting the treasures of the college is planned for fall 2010 in the Rare Book Room of Canaday Library. For treasures that cannot be moved, a walking tour will accompany the exhibition.
