| Scanning Documents on the Multimedia
Room PC |
|
Open
the Start menu in the bottom left hand cporner of the screen and
start the application Adobe Acrobat 5.0.
When
the application has started, click on the File menu, highlight
Import, and then select Scan.
A window should appear with the options shown to the right. Change
them to match the option shown if necessary.
|
 |
|
Click the button labelled Scan.
In the scanning window that appears, you are given several
option depending upon the type of document you are scanning:
B & W Document for text based documents, Color photographs,
B & W photographs, etc.
A resolution of 300 is usually sufficient. A higher resolution will
create a cleaner scan but will take longer to scan and will result
in a larger file for the recipient. |
In the right hand side of the window, a preview of your document
should appear. If it does not, click the Preview button.
You should also be able to see the edges of your document. Click
and hold the left mouse button in the window to draw a box around
the area of the document that you would like to scan. If you make
a mistake, you can press the Esc key on the keyboard to try
again. Drawing this box is not absolutely necessary, so if you
have problems don't worry about it. It simply reduces the amount
of unused white space in the scan.
Click the Scan button. Scanning the document may take one
or two minutes.
After the document has finished scanning, the application will ask
you if you would like to scan another page or finish.
When your document appears in Acrobat, you may save it by going
to the File menu and selecting Save. |
