LLC Resources

Audio, Video, and Software
The Language Learning Center has an extensive collection of foreign language products, including audio recordings, videos, and computer software. The materials maintained in the LLC have been purchased by language departments for use as instructional aids. Faculty members and T.A.s may sign out materials from the LLC monitor on duty. Students who receive departmental permission also may borrow materials for educational purposes. The LLC is equipped with multiple viewing stations for students' use. These stations include several multi-standard VCRs (PAL,SECAM, NTSC) and multi-region DVD players for films in foreign standards.

Second Life

The LLC has created a virtual campus in Second Life on the south shore of "Teaching 3" island.  Visitors are welcome, and for classes are encouraged to use this resource for language instruction and practice.  For assistance in joining Second Life or designing pedagogical uses for the resource, please contact the Director.

Satellite Television
The Language Learning Center receives 24 hour satellite broadcasts of TV5 (all French language), RAI (Italian) and Scola (various languages). Students, staff and faculty are welcome to request that specific programs be recorded or to watch these channels live in the Language Learning Center.
