            Good practice questions:

                        Exercises A – 1, 2, 3

                        Exercises B – 1, 4

                        Exercises D – 1, 6

                        Exercises E – 1, 4, 5, 6, 7

 

            Given a pile of numbers, be able to compute their…

                        Average ( = Mean)

                        Median

                        Mode ( not very useful, but easy)

                        RMS ( = “rms average”)

 

                        Any percentile (e.g., 25th percentile or 75th percentile)

 

                        Standard deviation

                        Inter-Quartile Range ( IQR )

                       

            Know what it means when the mean is bigger than the median, or vice versa.

 

            Know roughly what an outlier does to the mean, median, standard deviation,

                        or IQR.
