Margie DuBrow joined the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute as Director in 2009. Margie brings extensive experience in leadership education, program development, and program evaluation to her role. As Director, Margie is the lead designer of the curriculum of the Executive Leadership Certificate program. She created the Ascending Leadership Certificate program in 2011 focused on the professional development of emerging leaders. In 2012, Margie developed NELI’s fee-for-service consulting practice, which offers customized training programs to organizations that want to enhance their leadership capacity in-house.
Prior to her position at Bryn Mawr College, Margie was the principal consultant in Creative Management Strategies, Inc., a firm which specializes in community planning and building the capacity of nonprofit organizations. She has a strong track record of effectively working with executives in public systems and nonprofit agencies and with community leaders to build coalitions focused on community change.
For over 30 years, she has conducted training programs and technical assistance in strategic planning, organizational management, and grantsmanship with staff across multiple sectors. Margie earned her doctoral degree in organizational development from Temple University in Philadelphia. She earned her M.S. in education and her B.A. in American Literature from Syracuse University.

Kavita is a results-oriented leader, who brings over 20 years of experience as overseeing the growth and development of nonprofit, community-based organizations. Kavita joined NELI in 2014 as the Associate Director of Programs. Her wealth of expertise as an educator, trainer, and program manager has helped NELI expand its campus-based programming and its consulting work.
She has extensive background in diversity training, as well as in youth leadership development and mentoring in a number of settings including Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, and the Allentown/Bethlehem area. Prior to joining NELI, she served as Program Director at the Center for Humanistic Change and the Bread and Roses Community Fund, a foundation focused on social justice.
Kavita has a passion for building strong community collaborations that lead to transformation. Because she is committed to relationship-building as the foundation for successful community-based change, she helps groups resolve internal challenges to enhance their effectiveness. Much of her consulting work and volunteer activities have focused on organizations that work for social justice.
Kavita is a NELI graduate (2012) and has also earned leadership certificates from NTL Leaders of Color Initiative (2016), Leadership Development in Interethnic Relations (2005), and National Coalition Building Institute (2004). She holds a M.A. in education from the University of Pennsylvania.

Laura comes to NELI with many years of non-profit experience. She spent seventeen years at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Marketing and Communications Department. She held the position of Assistant Manager of Public Relations for eight of those years. For the remaining nine, she was the Producer of the Wednesday and Friday Night Program series.
For the past few years, in addition to administering the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia, she works freelance on tour management and media relations for academic authors. Laura is happy to be a part of the NELI team.
