| BRYN MAWR ATHLETES RECOGNIZED BY CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE, NATIONAL FIELD-HOCKEY ORGANIZATION
In recognition of the academic and athletic efforts of Bryn Mawr's winter athletes, two basketball players, three swimmers and five indoor track and field athletes were named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll last week. Two days later, eight Bryn Mawr field-hockey players were named to the 2005 NFHCA's (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) Academic Squad, and the Owls earned the 2005 NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.
To win the Centennial Conference award, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve on his/her team, must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, and must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.40 or higher.
The NFHCA's National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2005-06 academic year. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2005-06 academic year.
