2012 CETE STEM Teacher Preparation Conference
Bryn Mawr College - May 30 to June 1, 2012
Building a network for excellence in STEM teacher education at liberal arts institutions: Doing together what we cannot do alone.
Our keynote speakers: Dr. John Ewing, Math for America and
Dr. Maria Rivera-Maulucci, Barnard College

Join Liberal Arts Institutions from around the country in:
The United States is making a concerted effort to strengthen science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and having a high quality teacher workforce is a key focus of these efforts. Liberal arts institutions, with their small education programs, prepare a relatively few STEM teachers, but the teachers we do prepare have strong content knowledge, tend to take on leadership roles in their schools, and have the potential to make a disproportionately large impact on the schools in which they teach.
Blog information
One of our goals for this conference is to look for ways that by working
together, and sharing resources, we can jointly develop programs and
initiatives that will strengthen all of our STEM teacher preparation
programs. To this end, we have created a blog where we can start to
build a national network of STEM teacher preparation programs at liberal
arts institutions.
Please make sure to go to http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/exchange/cete/participants/form and enter your bio and institutional information so that others might
get to know you. We encourage everyone to click on the Bios link on the

We hope this will help facilitate our networking session on Thursday evening.
