You have indicated that you are currently in the United States in a non-immigrant status. If you are currently in either F-1 or J-1 status, please send a copy of all your immigration documents [passport identity page, visa stamp, I-94, I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for F-1 Student Status) or DS-2019 (Certificate of Eligibility for J-1 Exchange Visitor Status)] to the Office of International Programs. In addition, please ask the Designated School Official or Program Responsible Officer at your current institution to complete the attached form and return this to the Office of International Programs in a sealed envelope as soon as possible so that we can process the necessary immigration documents for you. Please be aware that we cannot issue the transfer form I-20 or DS-2019 until AFTER your “release date” from your current program.

If you are in another non-immigrant status (e.g., H-4, L-2, etc.), please contact the Office of International Programs directly.

If you plan to travel outside the U.S. prior to your arrival at Bryn Mawr, you will need an I-20 or DS-2019 issued by Bryn Mawr to re-enter the country for full-time study. If your visa expired, you also need to obtain a new one through the nearest American embassy or consulate.

Please report to the Office of International Programs upon your arrival on campus. The transfer process is completed when we notify the U.S. government electronically that you are now a student at Bryn Mawr. Failure to complete the process will put you out of status and jeopardize your abilities to study at the College.
