OneCard is official identification card for the Bryn Mawr College. OneCard uses innovative technology to provide easy and convenient access to Bryn Mawr College resources. OneCard is the only card you need for: building access; library services; meal plan authorization; and photo identification.
OneCard’s are issued to all active members of the Bryn Mawr College community including students, staff, and faculty. After you are activated in the College’s system by either the registrar or human resources, all you need to do is stop by the OneCard Office located in the Ward Building, Monday through Friday, between 8am and 5pm.

No, when a hole is punched through the laminated seal on the OneCard, your card becomes more susceptible to damage. Your card may become unusable in the card readers and access control readers throughout campus.
Our access system requires an activated OneCard. When you receive your record, any access level you have been granted, will become activated in approximately 20 minutes. Your OneCard is equipped with a proximity device. To open an access door, simply wave your card in front of a reader located at the door. You will hear a “click” and will be able to open the door. After 5 seconds, the will relock. Exiting a building is not controlled nor affected by the access system. The system has a back-up memory and power supply in each building where card access control is used. In the event of a power outage, the back-up system will allow the access to continue operating at full capacity.
Dorms, libraries, Cambrian Row, the Multi-Cultural Center, the Pembroke Dance Studio, Dalton Hall, Schwartz Gym and the Lusty Cup are equipped with access control.
Dorm access is determined by Residential Life in conjunction with Res Council and the residents of the dorms. Currently, students have access to their assigned dorm 24/7. Access to other dorms is currently granted Monday through Thursday, 8am to midnight, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 2am. All other areas equipped with access control are assigned an authorizing individual who can grant access. If you are unsure who the authorizing individual for a space is and you feel you need access privileges, please contact the OneCard Office.

For residential students, your OneCard is encoded with your meal plan information. A checker will use a card reader to verify your meal plan. If you are not on a meal plan, you can pay for meals using Bryn Mawr Express, one of the two pre-paid accounts you can utilize with your OneCard.
Bryn Mawr Express is a pre-paid declining balance account accessed with your OneCard. It works like a debit card. You deposit funds into your Bryn Mawr Express Account, and when you make a purchase, the College’s network records each transaction. You can check your Bryn Express Account balance at any of the registers located in Uncommon Grounds, by visiting the OneCard Office located in the Ward Building or by looking at your most recent receipt.
Your Bryn Mawr Express is accepted at all dining halls, Uncommon Grounds, the Lusty Cup, Copy Center, OneCard Office, Post Office, Public Safety, Wyndham and the Bookstores at Bryn Mawr and Haverford.
You can make deposits to your Bryn Mawr Express account by filling out a deposit form and submitting it to the OneCard Office located in the Ward Building. You may also make a deposit over the phone by calling 610-526-790. Cash, check and credit cards are acceptable methods for depositing funds to your Bryn Mawr. A Bryn Mawr student who would like to transfer student credit funds to their Express Account must visit the Student Bursar at the Comptroller’s Office in Cartref for authorization.
Your account balance will carry over from year to year, or until your permanent departure from Bryn Mawr College. Should you withdraw or resign from Bryn Mawr, any unused balance of $25 or more will be refunded to you provided you notify the OneCard Office in writing, within thirty days. Any unclaimed balance will become property of the College. An account that remains inactive for more than one year may be closed at the discretion of the OneCard Office.
Beginning Fall semester 2006, the OneCard Office rolled out a new pre-paid account called Bryn Mawr Junction. This account is accepted as a form of tender in all the Pepsi machines throughout the campus and in the snack machines located in Dalton Hall.
Bryn Mawr Junction is a second declining prepaid service account accessed you’re your OneCard. The Bryn Mawr Junction Account resembles a gift card to which funds can be added.
You can add value to your Bryn Mawr Junction Account by using the new 1080 CCL machines located in the Campus Center (bottom floor next to the ATM machine) and Canaday Library (located in the Lusty Cup). Please Note: Customers may have a maximum balance of $25 in their Bryn Mawr Junction Account.
Services owned and operated by the College (e.g., dining services, bookshop, copy center, etc.) are managed and tracked by the OneCard office. Transactions complete through these services use the Bryn Mawr Express account. Contractual services partnered (e.g., vending) with Bryn Mawr College are not tracked by the College. Therefore a second account, Bryn Mawr Junction, is needed to offer these services. If you loss or misplace your card, your Express account balance can be verified by the OneCard accounting system and transferred to your new OneCard. Junction account balances cannot be verified without physically having your OneCard. If you loss or misplace your OneCard, your Junction account balance cannot be transferred to a new card.
