Q. Are there try-outs for the team? A. Yes, the try-out will be a 2000 meter ergometer (rowing machine) piece. Try-outs take place at the beginning of the fall semester. Q. Who do I contact for more information? You can email our captains, Courtney Moore and Maggie Tucker at bmcrewcaptains@yahoo.com. Q. Do I have to have rowing experience to try out? A. Absolutely not! Enthusiasm and dedication are a must, but experience is not. Q. Where does the team go to practice? A. We row out of the Vesper boathouse on the Schuylkill River. Q. Which races do we compete in? A. In the fall we compete in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, the Seven Sisters Regatta (hosted by Wellesley this year), and the Navy Day Regatta, the Bill Braxton Regatta and the Frostbite Regatta in Philadelphia. In the spring, we compete in the Knecht Cup, the Kerr Cup, the Dad Vail Regatta and others. Q. When are practices? A. We leave Bryn Mawr at approximately 5:30am every morning, Monday through Friday, and we are back on campus in time for 9:00am classes. On Saturdays that we don't compete we generally practice on campus.
