The Extreme Keys is a women's a cappella group founded in 1981 as the Suburban Squares.

Women from Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges can audition to be members. We hold most of our performances on the Bryn Mawr College campus. We host a cappella groups from other colleges at joint concerts. See our links to our favorite men's groups.

Our music has evolved from jazz and madrigal to our current preference for alternative and pop songs. We pull from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's as well as indie music from the 21st century. Most of our music is arranged by group members.

We live up to our name. Our collective disposition energizes the dictionary definition of ‘temperament’: displaying unique personal attitudes with a disinclination to submit to conventional rules or restraints.
