Chester, PA has been the victim of many instances of
environmental racism. At the time of this article, applications for
more permits for garbage incinerators were pending, and the Greens were
active in supporting the residents of Chester in speaking against the
permits.
The Greens help examine Bryn Mawr College's garbage and recycling
contract, which is held by BFI. BFI is one of the companies that have
contributed to the environmental and health problems in Chester.
