Overview of the Bi-College MSA

The Bi-College Muslim Students' Association is an organization that provides support and resources to Muslims on both the Haverford and Bryn Mawr College campuses. An integral aspect of the MSA is to provide a space for Muslims to come together, voice opinions, discuss issues, and learn from one another. It is also an organization which educates the community at large about the message of Islam.

The Bi-Co Community provides a friendly atmosphere for Muslim life. We have an entire building devoted to religious activities, which contains a prayer room and a halal kitchen. We hold weekly Jummah prayers on campus and come together for homemade dinners at the halal kitchen every Friday. During Ramadan the school provides us with special services—a van for tarweeh trips to the local Villanova Masjid and snack packages for suhoor. We also regularly hold social activities, including girls’ nights out or Islamic film screenings. The administration is always happy to work with us to make matters even more Muslim-friendly. Previous MSA generations have successfully lobbied for women's hours at the pool, and we are constantly in touch with administrators to see what we can do to further improve Muslim life on campus.

The Muslim Students' Organization is open to both Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Our Mission Statement:

  • To promote the unity of Muslims in the Bi-College Community
  • To foster a spirit of compassion and solidarity within the community through mutual consultation, discussion, and service.
  • To educate the campus' at large (both Muslim and Non-Muslim) about Islam in an effort to eliminate negative stereotypes and to extend an open-invitation to those who are interested in learning about Islam.
