Statement of Purpose

President George W. Bush said of Reagan, “(he) believed that people were basically good, and had the right to be free. He believed that bigotry and prejudice were the worst things a person could be guilty of. He believed in the Golden Rule and in the power of prayer. He believed that America was not just a place in the world, but the hope of the world.” The Republican Party believes in the importance of individual freedom and the importance of personal responsibility.

The Bryn Mawr College Republicans club is a political club that is a member of the College Republicans of Pennsylvania and the College Republicans National Committee. The purpose of the Bryn Mawr College Republicans is to promote the principles of the Republican Party among the Bryn Mawr student body.

Our purpose can be further specified into three parts; first, to function as a forum for promoting political diversity on the Bryn Mawr campus, second, to bring Republicans together socially, while providing a safe venue in which to express conservative views, and third, to participate by volunteering on the local, state, and national level to contribute to the advancement of our party.

This organization exists to assist in the election of Republican candidates to public office at all levels of government, encourage and stimulate the activity of citizens in the affairs of government, and to promote the highest principles of good government.

The Bryn Mawr College Republicans strive to make our stated purpose a reality by holding biweekly meetings and additional meetings as necessary. This club exists so that Bryn Mawr College Republicans can host on-campus activities, volunteer to work on local campaigns in the area, work to keep an open dialogue with the Bryn Mawr community, host conservative guest speakers, and participate in community service projects.

The club is open to all students regardless of registered party.
