Bryn Mawr College is committed to developing and fostering a safe space and successful living and learning environment for our diverse and multicultural student population in which all members are valued. As a women's college, we recognize that society's understanding of human diversity is evolving and that this diversity includes a range of gender identities and expressions. The Bryn Mawr community (comprised of faculty, staff, students, alumnae/i and student parents) includes members who are and who identify as transgender, non-binary and gender nonconforming. Bryn Mawr fosters an environment of self-exploration that is respectful, safe, and accepting of all members of its community.
In 2015 the College updated its admissions policy with regard to transgender, non-binary and gender nonconforming students. More information on the policy and the College’s commitment to students can be found here.
Current students looking for information about changing their names and gender markers should consult this site.
