The Pensby Center is recruiting rising sophomore, junior, and senior
undergraduate students to serve as Student Resource Persons (SRPs) for the
Tri-College Equity, Identity, and Social Justice Institute scheduled for August
21, 2013 until the start of Customs Week. The program provides opportunities
for SRPs and incoming first year students to engage in discussions around
issues of multiculturalism, build skills for negotiating cross-cultural
differences, and become agents of social change. Haverford, Bryn Mawr, and
Swarthmore College students will reside on their home campuses and will
circulate among the three colleges for workshops and activities.
Mandatory SRP training will take place twice during the spring semester
Friday, April 19, 2013 at 6:00 PM on one of the Tri-Co campuses. SRPs from all three campuses will participate. Transportation will be arranged and dinner included.
Tuesday May 7, 2013 in the Pensby Center for the Bryn Mawr SRP team; a three hour training will be offered, with time of day tbd until SRPs are selected.
SRPs will complete their training as a full tri-college group prior to Tri-Co participants’ arrival. SRP training will begin on Monday August 19, 2013. The full SRP job description (and application link) may be found on the Pensby Center website: www.brynmawr.edu/pensby
Applications must be submitted before midnight on Monday, March 18, 2013. SRPs will be compensated with a $550.00 stipend. Applicants will be contacted by the selection team by Friday, March 22, 2013 to schedule interviews. More information on the program will be made available to candidates at the time of interviews and on the Pensby website.
