Morgan Wallhagen (Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania) has taught at Bryn Mawr since 2006 and is currently a lecturer in the Philosophy Department and Assistant to the Provost for Middle States Review. He has also been a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania. His main research interests lie at the intersection of philosophy of mind and cognitive science, particularly questions concerning the nature and functions of conscious experience. His published work includes "Consciousness and Action: Does Cognitive Science Support (Mild) Epiphenomenalism?" (The British Journal for the Philosophy of Science, 2007). In addition to teaching both problem-centered and historical introductory courses, he teaches courses in metaphysics, philosophy of mind, cognitive science, freedom of the will, concepts of the self, and philosophy of language.
