Look through the acrylic cylinder at the words below. What do you see? Does one word appear to be up side down? Can you figure out why?

HOW IT WORKS

Actually both words are up side down. The acrylic cylinder bends the light in such a way that the image is inverted. One word only appears to be right side up because each letter is symmetric. That is, an up side down C looks the same as a right side up C.
