Sponsored Research

Office of Sponsored Research

The Office of Sponsored Research is designed to serve members of the faculty in their attempts to obtain and administer grant support for research and other scholarly activities.

The office maintains an information center consisting of directories, brochures, guidelines, application forms, and other materials useful in seeking potential funding sources.  The office also subscribes to the Illinois Researcher Information System (IRIS), which will match a faculty member's research interests with potential funding programs.

Office of Foundations and Corporate Programs

The Office of Foundations and Corporate Programs (in the College’s Resources Office) also works with faculty members interested in applying to foundations or other non-government institutions for grants to support their research.

Staff in Foundations and Corporate Programs work with faculty members who are interested in pursuing institutional projects, such as curriculum development, which have been preapproved by the Provost.

The Office can help find potential funding sources, help with the proposal development process, and review draft proposals.

Faculty members should consult with staff in the Office of Foundation and Corporate Programs prior to contacting a foundation or submitting a proposal.  Faculty members should not contact directly a private, non-governmental foundation.
