To Apply
To apply to the CDPP, please download and complete an application form (available here) and submit the materials specified (e.g., GRE scores, Transcript, Letters of Recommendation) in the application.
The application deadline for the CDPP program is typically in January. Current information about deadlines is available here.
Specifying Area of Research Interest
Students enrolled in the CDPP program are engaged in learning about and conducting research throughout their time at Bryn Mawr. Students are required to complete Master's and Dissertation research projects. Students begin working with a faculty mentor in the first few weeks in graduate school. To facilitate a timely start, we ask you to indicate in your application statement the faculty member(s) whose research best fits your interests. Provide a brief explanation of why you believe there is a fit between your interests and that of the faculty member(s). If you indicate interest in more than one faculty member, please indicate your order of preference and provide a description of your specific interest in each faculty member. Descriptions of each faculty member's research interests and selected publications can be accessed here. We also encourage you to search PsychInfo and other databases for additional information about faculty publications.
Interviews
After applications are reviewed, promising applicants will be invited to Bryn Mawr for a required on-campus interview before a final admissions decision is reached.
Background of Applicants
We are looking for students with a demonstrated interest in psychological research, clear research interests that match with faculty interests, strong undergraduate preparation, and a strong commitment to research and teaching in addition to clinical work.
Women and men from a wide variety of backgrounds are accepted to the CDPP. Some of our students chose to pursue graduate study immediately after completing their undergraduate education, and others have worked in the field of psychology or in another field before enrolling at Bryn Mawr. Some students enter the program with a master’s degree in a related field. Students entering the CDPP with advanced training may submit a written request to waive one or more program courses if they have taken the equivalent graduate course elsewhere.
