Students with honor grades on Advanced Placement Examinations are eligible to enter advanced courses (with the exception of Economics). A score of 3 will not earn credit toward the A.B. degree, but may enable you to enter advanced courses on the recommendation of the department concerned.

The College administers its own placement examinations during Freshman Week in foreign Languages, mathematics, and most sciences. Unlike the A.P. Examinations, they do not carry unit credit, but the Language and mathematics examinations may establish proficiency, thus fulfilling degree requirements.
