Virtual Bryn Mawr Quick Tour
Logging On: The look of Virtual Bryn Mawr has changed! But logging in has not - to log in use one of the VRO links or go to http://virtual.brynmawr.edu, this will bring up the login page, type in your user ID* and your password. Your password will be a ten character password with at least two numeric characters. NOTE: Your user ID is the same as your email user ID, but your password is different unless you synchronized them!
When you first log in you will have 3 or 4 menu options: Self-Service where you will access most information, BMC Staff to view your pay check if you are working on campus, BMC Student access to the student directory, and Change My Password.
Most functions have now been grouped under the Student Center. Under Self-Service, click on Student Center. You can access all Self-Service menu items directly from the Student Center. If you want to hide the menu on the left, click the minus button at the top of the frame. To expand it again, click on the little blue window icon.
Information in the Student Center is organized into four areas: Academics, Finances, Personal Information and Admissions.
Academics-- Your current courses will display in a grid, and there is a link to view the weekly schedule as well. During registration you will use the Add a Class link to add classes. You can use the Grades link to view your grades for any give semester. Use the other academic… drop down menu to view your unofficial transcript, view or request enrollment verification or request an official transcript.
Finances-- You can view your student financials account, and view your financial aid when it is available.
Personal Information-- You can view and/or change your addresses, emergency contacts, and name. Your basic data is displayed. Under the other personal… drop down you can update your privacy settings (ie the release of your photo to the on-line directory).
Admissions-- Because applicants access Virtual Bryn Mawr through the student center, there is an Admissions sections. Current students don’t need to worry about it, although you may be able to still see some information from when you applied.
One the right hand side of the screen there is a section for Holds, To Do’s, Advisors and Web sites. Holds are holds on your student financials account. We don’t currently use To Do’s, Advisors should display your Dean and, once you have declared a major, your major advisors and department chair. We have added links to the Blackboard login page and the BMC Student Gateway page for your convenience.
Logging Out of the Virtual Registrar’s Office: To protect your privacy remember to log out of the system when you are finished. Click “Sign out” on the blue menu bar in the upper right hand corner.
