Clearing Holds

What is a hold? 

A hold is a block on your account that prohibits you from performing an action like registering for classes or requesting a transcript.

Most holds are financial holds and result from the students tuition or fees being paid before a deadline.  Students with unpaid tutition from the current semester will not be allowed to preregister for the next semester until the tutition is paid.  If the tution is not paid before the end of preregistration, the student will not be allowed to register for classes prior to the first day of the semester.

How do I check if I have a hold?

Students can check their account balances and holds in their Student Center in BIONIC.

Navigate to: BIONIC > Self Service > Student Center

Right handside menu: Holds.

    • If you don't have a hold, you will see:

      hold
    • If you have a hold, you will see the type of hold in the box and a "details" link.
      no payment

      Click on the details to see more information about your hold. 


    If you have a question about a financial hold, please stop by the One Stop Desk in Guild Hall to inquire about your student account.



    How do I check my Account Balance?

    Navigate to: BIONIC > Self Service > Student Center

    Under the box Academics is Finances.
