 Tom King

 

 

Tom King, Director of Campus Safety – Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges

Tom has been at Haverford College for fifteen years, and began working with Bryn Mawr five years ago.  He was a Detective and Detective Supervisor with the Philadelphia Police Department for twenty years, and was with the University of Pennsylvania Police Department’s Detective Commander & Deputy Chief for four years. He has a M.Ed. and teaches a Graduate-level course called Education Law at Holy Family's University.  Tom is an avid cyclist, and rides and races whenever he gets time. He is "enamored" with the Social Honor Code, and enjoys seeing students progress, learn, and grow as they approach life after college.

 

 Lil Burroughs

 

 

Lil Burroughs, Director of Operations, Campus Safety for Bryn Mawr & Haverford Colleges.

Lil has been with Bryn Mawr since 2012 and has worked in Campus Safety for over twenty years at such places including Cabrini College, Philadelphia University and the Philadelphia Police Department. Lil has her Masters Degree from St. Joseph's University in Public Safety Management. Lil is thrilled to be a member of this fine Campus Safety team.

Mike Ramsey, Card Access Administrator

Mike has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2003. He was formerly with the United States Marine Corps and the Montgomery County Corrections Department. He is the department's Training Officer, RAD instructor and Card Access Administrator. Mike likes to spend time with his family and loves to travel.

  Kim Callahan, Associate Director of Investigations                                                                                   

Kim Callahan came to Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges in 2014 after working as a Chester County Assistant District Attorney for 15 years. For the majority of her career, Kim prosecuted child sexual and physical abuse cases. Kim obtained her B.S. from West Chester University and received her J.D. from Widener University School of Law.

Jay Medina

Jay started with Bryn Mawr in 2018 after working as an officer with Masthope Department Of Public Safety. Jay enjoys playing the guitar, painting and spending time outdoors. Jays long term goal is to be as most efficient as possible to his community while achieving a degree focsed around emergency medical services.

Tiffany Leverich

Tiffany started at Bryn Mawr in 2018 and is excited to be a part of the Bryn Mawr College Campus Safety team. She previously worked Security at Mercy Fitzgerald hospital. 
She attended Leasot academy training for law enforcement and security officers in 2015 certified by the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
She is married with a 10 year old daughter.
She enjoys taking family vacations, watching movies and having game nights with her family.

John Kelley

John has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2010.  John spent seven years as municipal police officer, thirteen years in college public safety, and ten years with a Fortune 500 company as a security manager.  He has a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.S. in Human Resource Management.  He is married with four children and enjoys cross-country motorcycle riding.

Jerry Fayette

Jerry has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2013.  He served as a patrol sergeant and member of the K-9 unit with the Abington Police Department. Jerry has a B.S. in Criminal Justice from St. Joseph's University. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his children, competing in Spartan Races and creating rusitc flags and furniture from reclaimed wood. Jerry enoys the opportunity to meet students from many diverse backgrounds while working the night shift.

Ernest Walker

Ernest has been with Bryn Mawr College on the midnight shift since April 2017. He joined us after working at the University of the Sciences for some time. He has a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Temple University and is International Police Mountain Bicycle certified by Villanova University Department of Public Safety/University of Pennsylvania Police Department. He is thrilled to be here on our team.

Art Weidle

Art has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2011. Art has twenty-eight years experience as an officer and supervisor in the Lower Merion Police Department. Art enjoys riding as a bike patrol on our beautiful campus.He has a B.A. in Criminal Justice from LaSalle University. He is married with two daughters.

Cheryl Ann Tavares (CAT)

Cheryl has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2007.  She previously worked security at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA.  She likes dancing and reading. Cheryl loves working at Bryn Mawr because it feels like an extended family.

Lisa Jenkins

Lisa has been with Bryn Mawr College since 1987. She previously worked in Dining Services as well as the College Post Office. Lisa received her certification in the Association of Public Safety Communication Officers (APCO)at the Philadelphia University. She enjoys reading, shopping, cooking, dancing and watching movies.  Lisa enjoys working at Bryn Mawr because of “the people and the community.”

Jennifer Turner

Jen has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2007. Jen attended the  Burlington Police Academy, New Jersey Department of Corrections Academy, and the Campus Public Safety Institute Academy. She is a certified member of the International Police Mountain Bike Association. Jen is a certified pet groomer and proficient in American Sign Language. Jen says she “likes interacting with students and the community.”

Jim has been with Bryn Mawr College since 1996. He has a background in property management.

Lisa Cowan

Lisa has been with Bryn Mawr College since 1987. She previously worked at St. Edmond’s Home for Children in the HR department, and as a medical secretary for an Ophthalmology/Surgery practice. She attended Mt. Aloysius College and enjoys reading and traveling.  Lisa says “the small community here allows you to get to know students during their four years at Bryn Mawr."

Tim has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2012. He previously worked for PNC Bank for thirty-seven years. He is a Viet Nam Veteran. Tim has four children and two grandchildren.

Daniel Shappell

Dan has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2011. Dan was a police officer and criminal investigator for twenty-three years, and the director of an ambulance company. He is a Marine Corps Veteran. Dan is married with two sons, and enjoys spending time at local beaches with his family. Dan is a volunteer fireman and an assistant scoutmaster.

Barry O’Keefe

Barry has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2012. He is a former Lower Merion Police Officer.  He is a graduate of Villanova University. Prior to working for the Campus Safety Departments at Bryn Mawr and Haverford College, Barry owned a painting business for twenty years. He is an avid football and baseball fan.

Barry Hess

Barry has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2011. Barry completed a mountain bike training course given by the Lower Merion Police Department and when possible does bike patrol around campus. He also enjoys riding his bike in his spare time.  Barry is also a RAD (Self-Defense) certified instructor where he completed an advance course (Adverse Dynamics) allowing Barry to wear the RAD suit. Take a RAD course and find out what the suit is.

Brian Reedy, On-Call Officer

Brian has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2012.  Brian is a former Albany N.Y. Police Officer/Investigator with twenty years experience. Brian also worked on the New York Auto Crimes Task Force and U.S. Marshals Task Force. He has a B.S. in Business Administration from the College of St. Rose.

Julie McReynolds

Julie has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2013.  Julie is a part time Physical Education Teacher at St. Joseph/ St. Roberts grade school. She has a degree in Political Science from University of Wisconsin-Parkside and was previously a police officer with Dane County Sheriff Office in Madison, Wi.  Julie completed a mountain bike training course given by the Lower Merion Police Department and when possible does bike patrol on campus.  Julie is a widow with a son.  She loves any sport, especially playing soccer and watching football.

Harrington

Shannon Harrington, On-Call Officer

Shannon has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2014. She recently graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor's in Psychology and is currently working on a Master's in Neuroscience. She moved to Philadelphia from California three years ago. She enjoys reading, dancing, cooking and painting.

Walt Lundy, On-Call Supervisor

Walt had been with Bryn Mawr College since 2014.  Walt had been with Bryn Mawr College Campus Safety from 2001 to 2005.  He was a civilian supervisor in the Communications, Forensics, and Recruitment in the Philadelphia Police Department for thirty-three years.  He also worked at the Abington Hospital for eleven years.  He is married and enjoys watching football and photography.

Steve Rodgers, On-Call Officer

Steve has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2015.  He is now a full-time officer at Haverford College. He is a Fire Fighter and life member with the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore. Steve enjoys being a part of the bike patrol when working during warmer Months.

Lisa Bethea, On-Call Dispatcher

Lisa has been with Bryn Mawr College since 2006. Though she works full time for the Government she loves working for Bryn Mawr any chance she can get. Lisa can also be seen at Haverford College on occasion as well.

Mike Baker

Mike has been a part of the Bryn Mawr Campus Safety team for many years. He started as a part-time officer and now after retiring as a Fire Captain he is with us on the midnight shift. Mike is also a certified Fire Investigator and Fire Inspector. He enjoys hiking, train watching and the Sea Shore.
