Career Changers is a five-week-long course that provides an introduction to graduate social work education. Designed for anyone considering returning to school to pursue a graduate degree in the field, the course teaches the fundamental components of social work.
Prospective students may have some work or volunteer experience in the social service field and want to learn how their education, experience, and interests can prepare them for graduate social work education. Others have no experience but are interested in working with people.
The curriculum includes presentations by current faculty members on foundation courses such as Practice, Policy, Human Behavior, Research for Social Work Practice, and Field Education, and uses case presentations and selected agency visits.
