Related Centers and ResearchThe Center for Child and Family Well-beingThe Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research founded the Center for Child and Family Well-being in 2002. The Center offers MSS students a specialization in child and family well-being, organizes an annual conference on various topics which includes juried paper presentations, and organizes an annual lecture series which is open to the public. The Nonprofit Executive Leadership InstituteThe Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research founded the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute (NELI) in direct response to social and human service leaders in the community who called for a high-level, specialized leadership training program tailored to meet their individual and agency needs. NELI is a ten-day program spread over four sessions over eight months. Community Research Ethics TrainingThis web site provides ethics training for lay people who do research work in communities (in both English and Spanish). These people are often indigenous to the community where the research is taking place. It is designed to help them consider and confront the sort of issues they might face as recruiters, data collectors and as members of their community. Research work includes recruiting people for research, handing out questionnaires, and interviewing people. This site is also for research supervisors. It was developed by contract for the Office of Research Integrity of the Department of Health and Human Services. GSSWSR Professor Leslie Alexander Ph.D. was the Principal Investigator, Kenneth Richmond, Ph.D., a bioethicist now at the Massachussetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was the Co-Principal Investigator.
