BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING VIRTUAL BRYN MAWR

Students use Virtual Bryn Mawr to register for classes, view their transcript and their student accounts, to request an official transcript, and to view their paycheck if they are employed on campus, etc.

TO LOG IN : Go to http://virtual.brynmawr.edu which will bring up the login page. Type in your user id and your password. NOTE: Your user id is the same as your email user id, but your password is different unless you synchronized them! (From the Main Menu, go to Change My Password .)

When you first log in you will have 3 or 4 menu options. Under Self-Service , click on Student Center . You can access most Self-Service menu items directly from the Student Center . If you want to hide the menu on the left, click the button. To expand it again, click on the little blue window icon.

Information in the Student Center is organized into four areas: Academics, Finances, Personal Information and Admissions . A brief overview of each is below.

Academics : your current courses will display in a grid and there is a link to the weekly schedule as well. During registration you will use the My Class Schedule or Add a Class link to add classes. You can use the Grades link to view your grades for any give semester.  Use the " other academic." drop down menu to view your unofficial transcript, view or request enrollment verification or request an official transcript.

Finances : you can view your student account and view your financial aid when it is available.

Personal Information : you can view and/or change your addresses, emergency contacts, and name. Your basic data is displayed.

Admissions : because the student center is also how applicants access Virtual Bryn Mawr, there is an Admissions section. Current students do not need to worry about this information, although you may be able to see some information from when you applied.

On the right hand side of the screen there is a section for Holds, To Do's, Advisors and Web sites . "Holds" are outstanding balances on your student account. We do not currently use "To Do's." The name of your academic advisor should display. For your convenience, links have been added to access the Blackboard login page and the BMC Student Gateway page of the College's web site.

LOGGING OUT OF VIRTUAL BRYN MAWR: To protect your privacy, remember to log out of the system when you are finished.  Click "Sign out" in the upper right hand corner.
