90 Years of Leadership in Social Work Education
The Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research celebrated 90 Years of Leadership in Social Work Education on Saturday, September 24, 2005. The days activities started with The Honorable Allyson Y. Schwartz, MSS '72, U.S. Congresswoman, PA 13th, who spoke on "Social Work and Leadership." Anna S. Forbes, MSS '92, then shared her thoughts on "Pulling Ourselves Back from the Edge: Leading Toward a Progressive Agenda in Times of Governmental Repression." Lastly, Jean Campbell Moore, M.S.S. '49, acted as moderator of our panel discussion that focused on The Many Faces of Leadership. The panelists were Jennifer M. Bonovitz, Ph.D. '80; Gloria Guard, M.S.S. '78, M.L.S.P. '80; Raheemah Shamsid-Deen Hampton, M.S.S. '02; Frank Seever, Ph.D. '69. The mornings activities were followed by a Reunion Luncheon and was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with alumnae/i friends and current and former faculty, deans, and staff.
