Each year, rising sophomores with a 3.3+ GPA who receive some form of financial aid are eligible to be selected as one of eleven Alumnae Regional Scholars. Students nominated to apply are contacted by the Dean's Office over the summer. Applications are due towards the end of the fall semester.
Scholars are selected based on their academic and community accomplishments at Bryn Mawr, and on the clarity and focus of their personal statement and proposal for a summer internship.
Final decisions are made in February by the Alumnae Selection Committee. Scholars receive $3600 for an 8-10 week unpaid internship during the summer following their sophomore year. It is expected that students will have occasions to meet with regional Alumnae groups to discuss their internship experiences.
