Each year, rising sophomores with a 3.3+ GPA who receive some form of financial aid are eligible to be selected as one of eleven Alumnae Regional Scholars. Students nominated to apply are contacted by the Dean's Office. Applications are due towards the end of the fall semester.
Final decisions are made in February by the Alumnae Selection Committee. Scholars receive $3600 for an 8-10 week unpaid, full-time internship during the summer following their sophomore year (internship must be a minimum of 240 hours).
(* Please note that taxes and FICA (generally about 14%) will be withheld from this stipend.)
Scholars are selected based on their academic and community accomplishments at Bryn Mawr, on the clarity and focus of their personal statement, and on the viability of their proposal for a summer internship. It is expected that students will have occasions to meet with regional Alumnae groups to discuss their internship experiences.
