Purpose
The Summer Institute offers women administrators and faculty intensive training in education administration. The curriculum prepares participants to work with issues currently facing higher education, with emphasis on the growing diversity of the student body and the work force.
The Purpose
of the Summer Institute is to improve the status of women in the middle and executive levels of higher education administration, areas in which women traditionally have been under-represented.
Now, the Summer Institute seeks to enrich the leadership of North-American higher education by providing its participants with skills and information pertinent to the management and governance of colleges and universities; timely information and perspectives on teaching, research, and service in the 21st century; and a stimulating environment in which to identify and energize career goals.
The Unique Aspect
of the Institute is its commitment to the development of a professional network of skilled women administrators ready to be mutually supportive and to work cooperatively to enlarge the professional opportunities for women in higher education. This network is extended through interaction with Summer Institute faculty, women and men drawn from government, foundations, professional associations, and the diverse sectors of North American higher education.
