Recommendation

How to Apply

download the application | download the recommendation form

You will need Adobe Acrobat to open the application and the recommendation form. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free download from Adobe and may be accessed here. Many computers come with Reader already installed, so you may not need to download the application.

Depending upon the configuration of your Internet browser, the PDF file may open in a new window within your browser or download directly to your computer. You may choose to force it to download the file by right-clicking (PC) or option-clicking (Mac) the link and then selecting 'download linked file'. You may also save the PDF to your computer if it opens in a new brower window by clicking on the save button on the menu bar. If you download the file, simply double-click it to launch Acrobat to proceed.

The PDF is a dynamic form; that is, you may click on the page and begin typing directly on the form while in Acrobat. Use the tab button to jump from one field to the next. You may also, of course, print the blank form and fill it in by hand.

NOTE: if you are using the free Acrobat Reader program, you will not be able to save your filled-in PDF form. (You can save it with your information intact if you are using any of the other Acrobat programs.) In Reader, once you have filled in your form on screen, you will need either to print the completed form and mail it or to send it electronically by clicking on the 'submit application' or 'submit recommendation form' button at the bottom of the final page. This option will submit the completed form via your email program; a standard new email window will automatically pop up with the form data already attached. You need only to push the send button as you normally would. Do not remove the attachment or change the addressee. Whether you choose to submit your application and/or recommendation form by mail or e-mail, we urge you to print a copy for your own records.

Please remember to supply the necessary supplementary information (see section VIII on the application form; the application form may be found here) and the $75 application fee.

The application deadline is March 15.
