McGrane emphasizes the importance of digital humanities as a way to combine rigorous scholarship with digital literacies for undergraduates. As panelist at the AAC&U, McGrane highlighted the rich sophistication of digital archives created by undergraduates during her course "Transatlantic Exchanges: Anatomies of Conversion and Revolution in Britain and Early America." Re:Humanities

                    A conference of, by , and for undergraduates

Re:Humanities is preparing for its second annual run on March 29-30, 2012 at Swathmore College. Sponsored by the Tri-Co DH initiative, Re:Humanities is planned by a working group of undergraduates from Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Swarthmore.  Undergraduates from elite schools across the country will be showcasing their original digital humanities workRe:humanities books logo.

The conference will also feature two keynote speakers: Alexandra Juhasz and Katherine Harris. Juhasz is a professor and filmmaker from Pitzer Collge and recent author of Learning From YouTube, a born-digital, video book pusblished by MIT Press. Harris is Re:Humanities March 29-30a professor at San Jose State University whose work focuses on the pedagogy of digitial  humanities for undergraduates.

This year's underlying theme for the conference will focus on the changing nature of the role of the undergraduate, especially working in digital humanities. We invite you to visit the Re:humanities website for futher information.
