Trico DH Undergraduate Grants and Fellowships

Student driven initatives, research, and collaborations   

As part of the Trico Digital Humanities (Tri-Co DH) initiative, we're offering grants and fellowships to students within the Trico community.  The goal of these grants is to foster student-driven initiatives, research, and collaborations which engage with questions concerning new media. Grants are available up to $4,350 and can be used for a number of projects such as pursuing an internship with a start-up tech company, facilitating social media transition for a company or organization, or pursuing research in a digital medium. Students from all majors and years are eligible to apply (unless otherwise specified).

Anna Levine (SC) Trico DH Working Group

The Trico Digital Humanities Working Group  is an opportunity for three students (one from each of the Trico colleges) to participate in a collaborative working enviornment dedicated to innovation. The fellowship is open to juniors and seniors who are interested in exploring digital humanities questions and testing new tools.  Each student will be a key player in shaping digital initatives and reports out to the Trico college community. Working group members will also have the opporunity to create a digital resume/ C.V .For any questions, please contact Jen Rajchel.

Trico DH Evan McGonagill (BMC)Research Fellowships

The Trico Digital Humanities Research Fellowship provides students the opportunity to be the principal investigator on a research-based poject. The driving inquiry of the project should either concern new media or be published (completely or in part) in a new media format.  The project should emphasize how the role of technology will advance an understanding of the specific research aims of the project. For example, asking how film based narratives change the way that we think about spectatorship or creating a digital archive to explore the intertextuality of a work. Trico DH Internships
Please submit applications by January 30, 2012

Trico Digital Humanities Internships may be used to pursue defined projects at organizations dedicated to media change (e.g., the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Institute for the Future of the Book, or the Digital Public Library of America); or at traditional organizations and companies exploring digital innovations. This internship could take many forms, even working for a start-up company or helping an existing organization transition to using social media. For any questions, please contact Jen Rajchel.

 

DHSI Trico DH Training
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis

Funds are available for students to garner specific digital humanities related skills such attending a TEI encoding class, participating in a THATCamp, or taking a class at the Digital Humanities Summer Insitute. Students can apply for travel,.expenses, and lodging up to $1,200. For any questions, please contact Jen Rajchel.
