Against a backdrop of water-glass symphonies, acrobatics, and a lake house off-season, two artists and ex-lovers come together after years of bitter estrangement. They cross paths. They pass each other. They part. They meet again. And again. And again.Acclaimed playwright Steven Dietz traces and retraces the paths of two of theater's most star-crossed lovers in this explosion of the final scene of Chekhov’s The Seagull. With humor and heartbreak, The Nina Variations breaks apart and reassembles their fateful final encounter in an all-encompassing exploration of memory, art, and love.
