Thorne Camp is designed and planned for preschool-age children. Staffed by one of our experienced teachers and several assistants, the half-day program takes place mostly outdoors, with the larger of our two multi-room classroom spaces available on rainy days.
Thorne Camp is a wonderful opportunity for preschoolers to have fun and make friends in a supportive, relaxed play environment. We begin each day outdoors by offering the children child-centered art projects, a story blanket, group games and free play on our large, shaded playground which features a large sand box, swings, multiple climbing structures, a long circular path for tricycles, a climbing tree, a wooden boat and train, and in the summer, sprinklers and wading pools. Throughout the morning, we keep the children cool and comfortable, with drinking water always available. After a break inside mid-morning for snack and fun circle, we return to the playground to play until pick-up time.
Camp runs for five weeks, usually beginning in mid-June, and weekly enrollment is available if space permits (with a minimum attendance of two weeks). Enrollment is limited to a maximum of 20 campers.
Drop-off time : 8:50 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Pick-up time: 11:50 a.m. – noon
Note: Pick-up ends promptly at noon. The camp roster can help parents to make arrangements for carpooling and in case of emergencies.

The Thorne Speech-Language Enrichment Camp is designed for children 3-5 years old, who qualify for speech therapy, but are looking for a Camp experience which embeds the therapy into a fun, multi-sensory camp curriculum. Priority is given to children already enrolled or new to our school-year Language Enrichment Preschool Program.
